Electronic System-Level (ESL) design covers most of the whole electronic product. ESL includes the integrated circuits, power, and electrical and human interfaces.
A single IC can now contain most of the system electronics. Therefore, system-level design is often a part of the IC design. Software now resides on the IC as well, so we include embedded software as part of ESL design.
