In the Beginning…
My first spreadsheet experience was Microsoft Multiplan running on a TI-99/4A computer. I was in South Bend, and after class, I would drive over to Tenex Computers where I would process returns for the mail order business. The owner of the company showed me Multiplan and I was hooked. Later, I moved on to Lotus 1-2-3, and then in the mid-90’s switched to Excel.

A surprising number started in SuperCalc: Bob Umlas, Baljit, and David K. Berntsen. Lotus 1-2-3 was the first spreadsheet for Paul Perrault, David Pedre, Chet Shannon, Kannan.N and Ernie Johnson. Guillermo J W used Quattro. Randy Burgess remembers starting in Excel.
