I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
- Custom Number Formatting
I am going to start this chapter with just straight numeric formatting instead of custom number formatting. It is a good story that might describe a problem that you’ve had in the past. The wordy explanation will go a long way towards explaining how custom number formatting works.
I built a time sheet to track hours for the week. The formula in F4 is =C4-B4+E4-D4. Initially, the calculation in F4 showed an answer of 8:00 AM, which looked strange. I went into Format Cells, then Number, then Time, and found this great little 13:30 entry which seemed to show hours and minutes.
