OF ALL THE WAYS you can use your Galaxy S4 to keep track of your life, the calendar may be the most important. Need to remember the meeting this afternoon, the dinner date tonight, the tennis game tomorrow morning? Forget paper-based calendars—the S4 puts them to shame.
Better still, Galaxy S4’s calendar is actually Google’s Calendar, so whether you’re looking at your calendar on your phone or on your PC, you see the exact same thing, because the S4 syncs with Google Calendar. So no matter where you are, you know where you need to be today, tomorrow, and beyond.
Using the Calendar
TO RUN THE CALENDAR, tap the calendar icon in the App Drawer….well, things aren’t quite that easy. The S4 comes with two calendar apps. One is the true-blue Google Calendar, and that’s the calendar this chapter teaches and recommends. The other is a calendar from Samsung. The Samsung calendar can sync with Google Calendar, so they can work together.
Note
The calendar that you see on the Home screen itself is likely to be the Samsung calendar, with a green icon. The Google calendar has a blue icon, and you can run it from the App Drawer—or drag its icon to the Home screen.
