9.3.1.1 SAXS/WAXS Analysis
The diffraction patterns for the various composite samples are shown in Figure 9.1.
A diffraction peak at 2θ at approximately 5° is related to the (001) plane of HNTs
(Figure 9.1a), which corresponds to a basal spacing of 0.721 nm. A highly disordered
tubular morphology featuring interstratication of layers with various hydration
states and small crystal size is indicated by this basal reection (Du et al. 2010; Rooj
