I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Butterfly
IN THE FIRST edition the butterfly’s wings were animated using the Distort tool (subselection of the Free Transform tool). With the new 3D tools in Flash CS4 it is much more efficient to use the 3D Rotation tool for the flapping wing animation.
Here I have converted the original wing graphic to a Movie Clip symbol and applied a motion tween using the new Motion Model. The advantages of using the 3D Rotation tool for this animation are faster results and a smaller file size.
