I have a confession. When I'm travelling by train I have a tendency to eavesdrop on other people's conversations. Admittedly, some people are talking so loudly that it's hard not to, especially if they're speaking on the phone to someone.
On some occasions I've even been known to ask my wife to speak more quietly during a meal at a restaurant whilst I tune into the juicy conversation at the next table – especially if it looks like it's going to develop into a row.
My natural curiosity gets the best of me I'm afraid, and, to be fair, my wife can become equally engrossed in the conversation unfolding nearby.
Now please tell me we're not the only ones who've ever done that!
