So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

I learnt a new word recently: ultracrepidarianism. (Don't worry, I struggled to pronounce it too.) It means speaking with authority about subjects you know nothing about. If you're like me, you've probably met a few people like that. They appear on radio phone-ins, social media, and one or two of them even masquerade as politicians.
In my work I meet thousands of people every year, from a wide range of countries, cultures, and backgrounds. It's one of the main things I enjoy about my job. (Even those with ultracrepidarianism can sometimes be amusing.) Most are extremely brief encounters with people I’ll never meet again, but one or two develop into long-term friendships.
