As mentioned in the Preface, this book adopts a top-down approach. In Chapter 1, we discussed the power electronics system, which is the system-level application of power devices (mostly discrete). Power management ICs are presented in Chapter 2. Power management ICs are IC-level application of power devices (mostly integrated).
