Abstract: Globalization has increased the frequency of intercultural contact worldwide, and with it, the potential for intercultural friendship. A prime arena for inter-cultural friendship is international higher education. Friendships between international and domestic students have multiple benefits for sojourners and hosts; however, a third or more of international students have no meaningful contact with host nationals.
