ICMP Error Messages
ICMP error messages are used whenever a nontransient delivery problem occurs that the sender should be made aware of. A variety of ICMP error messages exist (as described later in Section 5.2.1.2), although each of these messages have their own special requirements and treatments. However, all ICMP error messages have the same basic structure, and these fields are described in the next section.
