It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Apéndice B. Instalar Python 3

Una instalación estándar descarga Python de python.org, y añade los programas de ayuda

Si tu trabajo es muy científico, quizá prefieras obtener Python incluido con muchos paquetes científicos de Anaconda y utilizar su instalador de paquetes
condaen lugar depip.
Windows no tiene Python en absoluto, y macOS, Linux y Unix suelen tener versiones antiguas. Hasta que se pongan al día, puede que tengas que instalar Python 3 tú mismo.
Comprueba tu versión de Python
En un terminal o ventana de terminal, escribe python -V:
$ python -V Python 3.7.2
Dependiendo de tu sistema operativo, si no tienes Python o el sistema operativo no lo encuentra, aparecerá algún mensaje de error como comando no encontrado.
Si tienes Python y su versión 2, puede que quieras instalar Python 3, ya sea en todo el sistema o sólo para ti en un virtualenv (consulta "Utilizar virtualenv" o "Instalar virtualenv"). En este apéndice, muestro cómo instalar Python 3 en todo el sistema.
