Summary
In this chapter we went through how to create a Kanban board. We started by collecting relevant information and visualization dimensions. We then matched them to use the best visualizers for the most important information. We went back to the value stream map we drew in the Chapter 2 Days 3-5 – Getting to Know Your System, and made the process on the board inlined with the process we had in the value stream map. We discovered that some steps could be skipped since no time was spent there.
We also showed Kanban boards that could handle different types of situations depending on whether the team works with operation, development, or is just keeping track on the projects at an aggregated level.
