As the world’s population continues to grow, so will the pressure on energy, food, and other natural resources, especially if human society collectively succeeds at lifting people out of poverty into reasonable living standards. Where will the energy come from when burning more carbon amplifies climate unpredictability? Where will the protein come from when there simply aren’t enough animals to feed the population?
