So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
12.2. Conclusion
Tr is used mainly for character conversions, or stripping out control characters. All of the functions used in this chapter can be accomplished using sed, but some people prefer to use tr. Tr is quick and easy, and does the job.
