I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 4: Service Mesh Providers
- True – At the time of writing, Istio and Linkerd are available in Kubernetes. Istioctl can run in a VM environment for integration but it doesn't have good adoption rates.
- False – Linkerd developed its own sidecar proxy written in Rust, whereas Istio and Consul use the Envoy sidecar, which is developed by Lyft.
- False – The non-availability of a control plane will not stop sidecar-enabled microservices from functioning, though some capabilities may not be available.
