Simulation of Micro Hydromechanical Deep Drawing

Abstract

This chapter presents the simulation of micro hydromechanical deep drawing (MHDD). MHDD, a promising method to manufacture the micro metal cup-like products, is a budding micro sheet forming technology with enormous application potential. The hydraulic pressure, that significantly affects the formability and quality, varies with the change of fluid field constantly. MHDD can induce the hydrodynamic lubrication and lubrication in open lubricant pockets (OLPs) and improve the tribological behavior in micro forming by applying the appropriate fluid pressure.
