INTERLUDEPHILOSOPHY AND PONDERINGS ON COACHING
THROUGHOUT THESE PAGES, I’ve been rather tough on what I consider to be arbitrary “certifications” and “initials” and “experiences” that somehow qualify you to coach. It’s not because all of these offerings are misguided or wrong (although many of them are), but rather because they are too restrictive. I want to elaborate on some of those points and raise some additional ones for your consideration.
If you have the heart to coach, and the willingness to learn from any variety of sources, then the chances are you will be quite good at it and not incidentally, as this book suggests, forge quite a successful business. The dynamic looks like Figure I-1.
