It’s time to get acquainted.
The Motion interface is as flexible as it is elegant. If you’ve used Final Cut Pro or DVD Studio Pro, you’ll feel right at home. If not, no worries—Motion is incredibly welcoming.
In this chapter, I explain how to launch Motion and start a new project. Then I introduce the Motion interface and take you on a walking tour to get you familiar with your newfound motion graphics friend.
Now’s a good time to locate your Motion serial number if you don’t already have it handy. You’ll need it before you can get started on your first project.
When Motion launches, you are presented with a Welcome screen that contains four buttons (Figure 2.1):
