A’s ARP cache after the attack.
2.3.3.4 Step 4: Test the DoS Attack
To test the DoS attack, Host A pings Host B from the MS-DOS
command window (C:\> ping 192.168.1.3). The following
screenshot clearly shows that Host A is not getting any Ping
response from Host B. This is not because Host B is not con-
nected to the network or is denying Ping requests from Host
A using a firewall. Rather, it is because the ARP cache of Host
A is corrupted and the Ping request (the ICMP echo packet)
