I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to do it...
- To detect WAF or IPS use the following command:
$ nmap -p80 --script http-waf-detect,http-waf-fingerprint <target>
- The script http-waf-detect will let you know if a packet filtering system was detected:
PORT STATE SERVICE 80/tcp open http |_http-waf-detect: IDS/IPS/WAF detected
- The script http-waf-fingerprint will return the product name if identified:
PORT STATE SERVICE REASON 80/tcp open http syn-ackttl 58 | http-waf-fingerprint: | Detected WAF |_ Cloudflare
