Abstract

Social networking plays a crucial role in the social network of individuals as people’s social involvement increases. Online social networks (OSNs) are used for communication and interaction among users who have similar interests. Communication and relationships in social, professional, and personal situations have changed as a result of online social networks. Applications addressed include information sharing, social activism, company marketing, professional networking, and interpersonal communication. The prevalence of video content, influencer culture, transient content, augmented and virtual reality integration, and enhanced privacy are some of the emerging themes. The study draws attention to these platforms’ social effects, mental health implications, and ethical dilemmas.
