It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
- Improvements to the Database Resource Manager
These Oracle9i improvements include the ability to switch consumer groups based on workload, to proactively estimate the amount of CPU resources that will be required by a query, and to limit the number of connections a consumer group can use.
- Real Application Clusters
Probably the biggest advance in Oracle9i is Real Application Clusters, which offer a significant improvement over the functionality of Oracle Parallel Server (OPS).
