New services are provided by the database for OLAP and data mining, exposed through Java APIs.
- Additional SQL extensions to provide more analytic functions
Oracle9i adds a hypothetical rank function, a histogram function, and an inverse percentile function.
- ETL functionality in the database
Oracle9i moves some types of extraction, transformation, and loading functionality into the core database. This functionality will increasingly be leveraged by ETL tools such as Oracle Warehouse Builder.
