Insecure cryptographic storage is a vulnerability in that secure information in an application is not securely stored. This lets attackers access the secure information, including accessing other applications or datastores and compromising system security.
These vulnerabilities can be avoided by ensuring the secure data is encrypted, maintaining proper key storage, erasing sensitive datastores when they are no longer required by the application, using rich application algorithms, and following standard cryptography techniques.
