I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
28.4. Fixed Documents
Flow documents allow you to dynamically lay out complex, text-heavy content in a way that's naturally suited to onscreen reading. Fixed documents—those that use XPS (the XML Paper Specification)—are much less flexible. They serve as print-ready documents that can be distributed and printed on any output device with full fidelity to the original source. Toward that end, they use a precise, fixed layout, have support for font embedding, and can't be casually rearranged.
XPS isn't just a part of WPF. It's a standard that's tightly integrated into Windows Vista and Windows 7. Both versions of Windows include a print driver that can create XPS documents (in any application) and a viewer that allows you to display them. These ...
