Push

Addy Osmani defines the PUSH of PRPL as follows:

“Push critical resources for the initial URL route.”

Essentially, this means that your first priority is loading only what you need to render your initial route as fast as possible. Sound familiar? This is exactly the principle we followed with our application shell.

A gentle definition of Push can be "load the critical content first, before anything else." This definition fits exactly with the app shell pattern, but it's not quite what Osmani means.
