What does the RB system mean?

The rule-based system is defined as by using available knowledge or rules, we develop such a system which uses the rules, apply the available system rules on a corpus and try to generate or inference the results. Refer Figure 7.3, which will give you an idea about the RB system:

In short, you can say that the RB system is all about applying real-life rules or experiences to a available corpus, manipulating information as per the rules, and deriving certain decisions or results. Here, rules are generated or created by humans.
