Introduction

Aviation has gone through a change and development from when ‘the aircraft was made of wood and the men of steel’ to a situation where ‘the aircraft is made of plastic and operated by computers’. This refers to the many sides of change in the domain of aviation (which, of course also applies to other industries). Aviation has grown into a highly complex and dynamic industry where the margins for profitability are small.
