ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

While we are old gray-haired guys with lots of miles, we were just new kids when it came to writing a book. We didn’t know the commonly understood rules of writing, understand the basic elements of how a book comes together, and that we must never, ever use mixed metaphors (old habits die hard).

We knew lots about how to get things done, but we had lots to learn about how to explain it. We needed, accepted, and sought out all kinds of help.
