ggplot2
において、エステティック属性を設定することと、マッピングすることには重要な違いがあ
ります。先の例では、オブジェクトの色を
"red"
に設定しました。
一般的には、
colour
は線やポリゴンの枠線の色を制御し、
fill
はポリゴン領域を塗りつぶす色を制
御します。しかし、点の描画ではこれは少し異なります。ほとんどの種類の点で、点全体の色は
fill
ではなく
colour
で制御されます。ただし点の種類（
shape
）が
21--25
のときは例外で、これらは塗りつ
ぶしと枠線の両方を持っています。
なお、
colour
と
color
は
ggplot2
ではどちらでも使用可能です。この本では、
colour
を使っています。
