Abstract
The notion of blockchain has facilitated the creation of smart contracts, cryptocurrencies, and a multitude of other technological developments. However, apart from its usage in cryptocurrencies and networking cooperation and mechanization, distributed ledger mechanisms also have important social and technical ramifications for the future cohabitation of humans and robots. This article is inspired by the recent surge in interest in blockchains, as well as our substantial work on what is freely available and its combination with robotics and how blockchains and other distributed technological advances can affect interactions as a result of social integration and interaction of robots into human society and with the robotics agents.
