Bluetooth is yet another low-cost wireless technology for indoor loca-
tion sensing. Operating in the 2.4-GHz ISM band, Bluetooth is now
a de facto standard wireless interface on almost all cell phones, smart
phones, and PDAs. Like wireless LAN location sensing, received sig-
nal strength (RSS) measurement can be used to localize a Bluetooth
device. In contrast to wireless LAN, Bluetooth interface can be built
in the form of small tags that can be easily attached to an asset or a
