In-vehicle mobile business applications, including almost every
mobile application in the m-commerce arena that can be deployed
onto a common mobile device. Some examples are CRM mobile
access, job scheduling and reporting, and mobile collaboration.
Many telematics applications on the list must be made available
when the car is parked as well as moving on the road. Depending
on the application scenario, a telematics system can operate in the
following three modes: driving mode, in which a motorist is driving
the car; parked mode, in which the car is parked with the engine
off but the power is on so devices such as GPS and radio are still in
operation; and shutdown mode, in which the power is off
