I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
The use of the Activiti tool, Spring Workflow framework, and portlets saves time in implementing process flows that are needed by so many workflow-based systems. The time spent implementing the flows from the baseline affects the project time, specifically with Spring projects. If the application is so general, then the BPMN 2.0 standard of Activiti can be integrated to Spring 4.x, in order to guide the flow of transactions, without affecting the core features of the system. If the processes are intertwined with the user interfaces, then Spring Webflow 2.4.x would be the best resort. And if the applications provide an independent life cycle per process, with each having its own database and web services, then portlets can be integrated ...
