It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

It’s time to take your camera out after dark and capture the mystery of the night.
TECHNIQUE
One of the best times to photograph life on the streets is after dark. Usually the time after blue hour, before it becomes pitch dark, is the most uninspiring time to be out on the streets. That’s usually when photographers refuel before the evening’s adventures. Later, when the city lights come on, this is when the magic happens! It is also the time when my camera is set to automatically capture images in black and white.
