Paper books are almost a thing of the past. Your assignment is to photograph someone engrossed in a good book, magazine, or newspaper.

TECHNIQUE

Here again, cultural differences will make this exercise more or less challenging. Whereas physical book reading seems to be disappearing in the United States, it is still happening in France, for example. Some cultures are more attached to the tactile experience of reading a book than others, but no matter where you are, you will certainly find a reader sitting on a park bench or at a café without having to search for too long.

Now is not the time to provoke eye contact. Respect the privacy of the moment and capture your subject without drawing attention to yourself. ...
