The Anatomy of Persuasion® Structure and Alignment Chart

Rules of Construction

(1) Write your OBJECTIVE in 50 words or less. Derive your statements of the PLAN and NEXT STEP from your OBJECTIVE. You should have a logical flow of thought from OBJECTIVE through PLAN to NEXT STEP.

(2) The NEEDS of your audience should be completely developed and the RESULTS should translate the NEEDS into appropriate benefits. Be sure to check the sequence.

(3) Your HIW should tell your audience only what it needs to know in principle to understand how your PLAN will be carried out.
