We have perhaps saved the most contemporary and newest disruptive force for last. In a fast-changing ever-digitalised world, there has been a huge growth in the market of cryptocurrency, the launch of fan-engagement outfit, Socios, and the repeated launch of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) – popular among professional athletes so far – that have begun to infiltrate professional team sport.
