Why does Lean fail? Why can’t we understand how to do Lean? In the coming chapters, we will use our life experiences and share examples of success as well as where people have stumbled. This story is coming from a 50-year combined journey in manufacturing in the worlds of automotive, agriculture, industrial, aerospace, and so on. I would always tell people that Lean was ingrained from day one at Toyota. Not all of us embraced it 100%. I can tell you the ones that did always wanted more and drove Toyota to the level it is today.
