Incentivize and Support Engagement With Pre-Class Materials

Low-stakes, graded quizzes are important tools for the flipped-classroom environment because they serve as a strong incentive for students to engage the course content prior to class. When students know they will be held accountable for actively learning outside of class, they are more likely to study course content and complete projects.
