L.1 TUTORIAL PROBLEM FOR MATHCAD
A huge water reservoir is drained with a 4‐nominal schedule 80 copper pipe, 60 m long. The piping system is shown in Figure L.1. The fittings are regular and threaded. Determine the volume flow rate through the system.
Tips: To get the symbol ρ, type r first and put the cursor right behind the r, then press [Ctrl] and g simultaneously. Likewise, we can have μ with m and ε with e.
Tips: Try typing D:9.718*cm and you will see on screeen D:=9.718 cm, where the definition sign := is different than the Boolean sign = in functioning.

Reynolds Number
where only the velocity v (lowercase) is unknown.
Tips: Use [Spacebar] repeatedly to control the blue editing line under the expression. For example, r[Ctrl]g * v * D[Spacebar][Spacebar]/m[Ctrl]g will give you the above expression.
Tips: For example, type r[Ctrl]g * v ^ 2[Spacebar][Spacebar]/2 * g and you will see ![]()
