Motherboard The main recording infrastructure. Manages the
Transaction Families and provides the infrastructure for
the workbench to interact with the recording logic.
Sensors and formatters Encapsulates the recording technology and the script
generation logic. Each transaction family has one or
more sensors and a formatter.
Playback helpers COM objects that enable simulation scripts to perform
complex operations during playback. Each transaction
Family uses at least one playback helper.
Playback session The package exported by the IBM Recording and
Playback Workbench. The recorded simulation is
contained in the playback session, ready to be
reproduced by the playback engine.
