Mission accomplished
Did you really think one project could cover all there is to do in games? Of course not, but we looked at some of the key elements of popular games: user interfaces both overlaid onto the window such as the buttons to move the camera, and controls within the game such as the dimmer switch for the lights. This project reviewed lighting, discussed misdirection to create a challenge, and implemented game physics. Oddly enough, my advice to students is to break the laws of physics. Be creative, be whimsical; there is humor in almost everything. Take game ideas, and then consider what its parody would look like. The spectrum is wide open.
