Having considered both the conceptual and technological issues surrounding WMI, we are now in a position to be able to look in more detail at its structure and the components that comprise it.

The WMI implementation consists of a vast number of objects, some of which are persistent and some of which are created on demand. Each of these kinds of objects refers to some aspect of the operating system, hardware or network.
