It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Getting Started with Windows Speech Recognition
Of all the new features in Windows Vista, Windows Speech Recognition is probably the closest to fulfilling the vision of computing first defined in countless sci-fi movies and TV shows. The crew of the starship Enterprise thought nothing of talking to the computer that ran the ship and its systems. You won’t be able to blast Klingon warships into space dust with voice commands, but if you set slightly more realistic expectations, we predict you’ll be extremely impressed with Windows Speech Recognition.
