Seven National Championships in a Row

If anyone had said in 1967 that some college basketball team was going to win seven consecutive national championships, he would have been locked up. But it did happen while I was coaching at UCLA. And it’s just as likely to happen somewhere again—maybe even more than seven. And when it happens again I believe it will be tremendous!

Of course, there are some coaches out there I wouldn’t want to break our record. But there are others out there I’d be real happy for. I’m keeping both lists to myself.

Records are made to be broken. They’re not yours to keep but rather to enjoy a little while you have them.
