It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

2.3.4 XML schema and XSD
An XML schema is a document that defines constraints for the structure and content of an
XML document. This is in addition to the rules imposed by XML itself and should be viewed
as a higher level of organizational restriction.
One of the first XML schema definition languages has been the
Document Type Definition
(DTD) language. Because of its complexity, it has been largely replaced by the XML Schema
Definition
(XSD) specification. There are many other specifications and languages available
that define XML schemas, but XSD has become the most prevalent one for Web Services and
Service Oriented Architecture.
