Humans are social animals and our behavior is (largely unconsciously) shaped by the desire and instinct to be with other people. We also transfer this social connection to the technologies we interact with. If you design for social interaction, your goal is to design an interface and interaction that people will find compelling. And whether you know it or not, if you’re a designer, then designing for robots and artificial intelligence machines that interact with people is likely part of your future.
