advanced MT. For table tennis in Figure 5.10, eight-mode selection improves about

1.3 dB at 250 kbps and 0.4 dB at 2 Mbps; for silence, the improvement is 1.0 dB at

250 kbps and 0.1 dB at 2Mbps. The improvement mainly comes from the reduction

of motion cost, thus it is more obvious at lower bit rates and the two curves are

convergent at the high end. The improvement for the table sequence is significant

even at the high end because a scene change occurring at the 131th frame makes the

bidirectional linkage improper.

Next, we
